I had heard of wool dryer balls years ago, but never tried them until my mom gave me some two weeks ago. Even then I wasn't sure how I'd like them, I pictured the sound of tennis balls banging around in the dryer making an awful lot of noise. (Plus I don't enjoy staticky clothes, I don't like to fold them or wear them.) Being a gift, I thought I would give them a try and I was excited too. With 7 of us it's not hard to find laundry to do. So the first day I did 5 loads of laundry and was impressed!

Cleaning your face with olive oil...I know right?, how can oil clean your face...    It was a bout a year ago I came across this post about the oil cleaning method. I was doing research to find information on what would be a good face soap i could make. This was not at all what I was looking for and I thought oil really, but I'm one to try it all if just once, and I had olive oil so why not.   Here’s a direct quote from acne.org : “ Oil dissolves oil. Tis the season to get sick. There are 6 of us and half of us are out in public most of the day picking up all those nasty germs. I've been sick for the past 5 days and yesterday I woke up with a sinus infection and I really thought I would have to go to the doctor. I came across this site   that had good information on essential oils. I used peppermint oil, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil in a steam with a towel over my head two time yesterday. I could feel the infection had drained out of my sinuses in to my lymph node in my neck. All night I softly rubbed my neck down ward to help move the fluid out. By the time I went to bed I was feeling much better! This morning I woke up still a little sore but so much better than yesterday. I'm glad I didn't go to the doctor to get pills! I've got peppermint soap and eucalyptus soap so you can steam up in the shower!

I love the new year! Not a whole lot has been going on with my soap I've done a few orders online, pretty exciting. spent the holidays lovin' my Family! I can't wait to start making more soap for this coming year. February I'll Start getting ready for this years Farmers Market! Soap Soap Soap

I had my sweet baby girl the end of June we are happy and healthy. Last week was the first time back to the market, It's been going well. I'm getting low on some soaps so I'll be cooking away for the next few weeks. More orange coffee and berries and twigs coming soon. I missed 2 weeks now at the market, last Saturday i woke up having contractions....I didn't think hauling all my stuff to the park was the best idea. I really hope this Saturday I'll feel well enough to be there...BUT If I'm not and you need soap, just e-mail me! Baby due in 4 weeks!

Lately I've been very motivated to be in the kitchen. I've always enjoyed making meals from scratch...baking and cooking. I'm also very practical and frugal. I've never been good at baking bread but try every now and then. I find it silly to buy my sandwich bread, I think it's just water oil flour, but I couldn't get it just right no one would really eat it...well for sandwiches. So I came across "The Bread Bible" I read through it and just took some of her techniques ...and the first loaf of bread was great! we could put jelly, and penutbutter on it with out the bread falling apart & it cut smooth....I used my own recipe but her techniques and it was great. So now I've got bread and the best thing is my husband says he'll eat it! So to go along with it I made cinnamon and sugar butter....heaven! So simple 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter (room temp. butter) 4 Tablespoons Sugar about 3 teaspoons cinnamon Whip it in the mixer and put it in a con...

So I've tryed going with out shampoo before...and it was bad. Very greasy hair just not working, but for the past year or so I've come across different articles with people saying how it's wonderful and they are never going to use shampoo again. I thought I must be missing something , and when I came across this article   http://simplemom.net/how-to-clean-your-hair-without-shampoo/  I thought okay I'll give it one more try . It hasn't been long but from the start I'm impressed. I got out of the shower the first time and I thought, every thing feels the same , AND that's what I had been looking for. I don't wash my hair everyday so I was concerned that it would feel oily the next day, but it didn't. So if your like me and want to give it a try.......or another try do it! 1 Tablespoon backing soda 1 C. Water Mix in a bottle For a conditioner to help with the PH balance 1 Tablespoon natural vinegar 1C. Water Mix in a bottle ...

For Laundry soap: 3 C. Borax 2 C. Soda Wash 2 C. Baking Soda 2 C. Laundry bar grated up as fine as you can get it.   Mix it all in a bucket, (it does about 90 loads of laundry) use 1/8 c. - 1/4 c. per load.   To help rinse the soap from your clothes and soften your clothes use vinegar in your rinse cycle instead of store bought fabric softener....your clothes won't smell like vinegar once they dry. You can add it to the dispenser right in your washer. I use the same amount of vinegar as store bought softener. Why Vinegar? It disinfects your clothes and washing machine, it softens your clothes, It helps keep your colors from fading, it will rinse out any soap residue left from your laundry soap and keeps your clothes from looking dingy....And fabric softener is full of LOTS of toxic chemicals, why would you want that? I know there are a lot of different ways to make laundry soap but this is what I use and like. Let me know how you like i...

Update: I've been using this recipe to clean my toilets and it works well. Make sure you have a good brush to get under the rim.  I've been trying to find ways to clean the house with using little to no chemicals. This morning I finally got around to cleaning the toilets, and I had just run out of some store bought stuff.... Great time to try something new. I have a few recipes I've come across, but I like this one because it has baking soda and vinegar....and that just sounded like fun. So 1/2 cup each baking soda and vinegar, and then I added a few drops of tea tree oil to help disinfect. Dump it all in the bowl get a good brush scrub and flush....I let mine sit after I scrub it till some one needs to use it, I like to give the essential oils a chance to do it's "magic".  Let me know if there's a natural way you clean your house I'd love to try it! 1/2 Cup Vinegar 1/2 Cup Baking Soda A few drops Tea Tree essential oil (or any you like). I'm working on setting up a web page to sell soap on line! It's slow going but I'll let you know once it's up and going.

I've been using this for awhile and LOVE IT! It cleans well and disinfects. 2 C. warm water 1 teaspoon essential oils 1/2 teaspoon dish soap 1 teaspoon soda wash Mix it in a spray bottle spray on surface then wipe off in 5-10 min. I use this in my kitchen, bathroom, to clean my oven....and the washing m achine when it get soap scum in it....it is the best cleaner for everything!

I haven't done hardly anything with soap making over the last few months....I'm feeling better, but so busy. We just found out that we will be moving to Iowa next spring, so I think my soap making will be on hold for a while. I hope not for ever!

I Haven't been to the market, & I haven't made soap. I'm 3 months pregnant and so sick!!! We are very excited for #3! I hope I'm on the up and up and will be getting back into the swing of things soon. I still have my soap at the store and hope to be back at the market in the next 2 weeks.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can sell at the market. But just a reminder I do sell my soap in the "East to West" Antique store 55 N. Main street . (In the emporium) New hours are: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am- 6:00 pm.

It was such a nice day to be at the market. These are my new lables my brother made up for me I'm selling my soap at a store as well as the market. I didn't do this last year and I'm trying to find out what will work best, how to balance what I keep at the store and what I bring to the market. So if there is any soap that you really like let me know so I make sure I bring it to the market!

This winter and spring have been full and busy! Lots of the unknown slowed things down for me. But with the sunshine came a little more balance, and a lot more happiness! So now I'm gearing up for the Gardeners Market season 2010. I'm very excited and this year I will be selling Laundry soap , as well as some new scents. The Laundry soap is what I've used off and on for the past year and love it better than anything I can buy at the store. So I hope you all will want to try it out! All Natural biodegradable.
